Day Twenty-Eight

This weeks theme is "Reflection".  Themes will appear from time to time in order to help keep the challenge fresh for myself (and my 365 cohort, The Everyday).  For me, this can be symbolic, literal, physical, etc.....

Day Twenty-Seven

Some days I kick myself for not having my camera on me.  Last minute shots are hard enough, then adding trying to take a picture of yourself with an iPhone (and hoping it turns out okay) is even tougher.  If it wasn't for that strand of hair, I wouldn't mind the shot....Details Lisa...details!

Bottom line, I don't believe I will ever tire of sleeping babies...age 2mos, age 4yrs, or age 25yrs.  Is there anything better?

How do your children behave when you aren't there?  I have to admit - I really enjoy spying on my children when they least expect it.  You never know what you may capture....Take this little ballerina for example....it's my tiny dancer with a whole lot of AT-TI-TUDE!

May not be a photograph, but it's the design for the back of the UN Day t-shirts that I designed to go along with our "UN Day Song".  In a bit of a hurry, but can't deny, I miss home.  Will always be proud of  "back where I come from"...copyright Kenny C.

Took the shot with this exact outcome in mind.  So exciting when that happens.  Inside the "center" of the Kampung (local Indonesian neighborhood).  "Parking Lot" of sorts....best part is the building in the background.  Definitely an example of the opposite ends of the Jakarta spectrum of life.

It's been a weekend of favorites.  Today was filled with my favorite saying and my favorite holiday.  Thanks to the Kalugin family for bringing me a bit of Christmas in October.

Today's theme was art, creativity, and Alison.  Three of my very favorite things.  It was a good day.

Day Eighteen

6 days prior to selling a car to an incoming family and and relocating your own family, the temporary driver decides to smear the side of the van down a pole while trying to get out of a parking lot. Is it Jarkarta karma or just Murphy's law?

The red overlay symbolizes the fury coming out of the beautiful woman in the reflection. (No drivers were physically injured in the picture taking process.)

Dress up never gets old.  Either does tulle.
Self-created preset and it has quickly become one of my absolute favorites.

Beyonce arrived on my doorstep today!  Great Indonesian addition to the family from a great friend.

Day Ten

Sometimes they actually play well together.  Walking to the kitchen I saw the reflection in the floor.  A minute later, camera in hand, belly to the floor - I was telling the girls not to move a muscle.  I really like the shot.  Think I may have to challenge myself to a week's worth of reflections soon....

So to stay honest the picture was taken during the Northrop Family photo shoot on Sunday, but completed the post editing today so think it counts!  It is my personal favorite of the day.  Props to the beautiful girl holding the guitar, Kendal.

Day Six

Being out on a MoeCakes photo session with one of my favorite families, gave me an opportunity to snatch one of my favorite subjects...the local kids.  Their faces just never get old.

The pockets of beauty you can find in a random stop makes being in 7 hours of traffic a little more tolerable.

Day Four

No Internet connection in the middle of the Indonesian mountains means iPhone photo time! Not 3 feet from our car window to this "little" guy meant all access pass to fantastic photo ops!

We pass by graffiti countless times a day....this is one of my favorites. But actually getting the shot was the real Jak adventure.
