Day ThreeHundred-FortyFour

What happens when you get to spend the day with Ms. Tami while Mom is out of town and Dad is at a football game?  Holiday nails - that's what!!!  I'm telling you, this woman works wonders with nail polish, acrylic paint and a toothpick.

Day TwoHundred-NinetyOne

One of the great things right now about our "Backyard Bali" is the (almost daily) bloom of a new plant.  Today we got the first bloom on one of the birds of paradise plants.  Such a unique and gorgeous plant. (And as I get to posting this several days later, we now have 3!)

Day TwoHundred-EightyThree

Every night at dinner each family member shares their "high" and "low" of the day.  Moe & Cakes will often ask, "What do you think Ike's high and low was?"  My guess.... his high is the moment Dad gets out of bed for work and he is allowed in - his low, when Mom finally gets out of bed, because he always follows.  But looking into his big brown eye in today's picture, makes me wonder what he's really thinking about.  Probably, when can I get back into bed.  ;-)

Moe or Cakes?  What's your guess?

Did I mention how much I love this lens??

Day TwoHundred-SeventySeven

Lately, I've forgotten about some of my other lenses.  However, when you get in a rut, it's a great way to "see" things from a different perspective.  And it doesn't get much better than the macro when you need a new perspective.  Mary, this one is for you.

And with input from others around me, I went with the original image.  However, using one of my own personal presets, I came up with the image below.  A sucker for color, I absolutely love the rainbow of color across the picture as a whole!  What do you think?

Day OneHundred-FortyFive

No, your eyes are not deceiving you....it says Bacon-Flavored Milk Chocolate.  When you live in a country where pork products are near impossible to come by, and see this in a candy shop in NYC, it's a no brainer... You must buy it for family and friends back in Jak.  However, it soon becomes one of those moments in time that you ask yourself .... "WHY IN THE WORLD DID I THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?"  Because no matter who you buy it for, you know you will HAVE to try it.  And let me just tell you..... IT WAS HIDEOUS.

And just for giggles, here is a sneak at Cakes acting out the process (of course it is with peanut butter filled chocolate, b/c she couldn't try the bacon-flavored again...."seriously mom, just cannot do it").

Day Two

Need to have more of these around the house...so natural.  No post editing required.

Day One

The blog is (fairly) complete....the challenge begins.

365

A Photoblog by MoeCakes Photography that shares a single photo on a daily basis. Lasting a total of 365 days, it will not only create a daily (and collective) glimpse into my personal life, but challenge me as a photographer to utilize and develop my skills in new and unique ways.

About Me

My photo
Grad Student. Wife. Mom. An artist, yogi, photographer, graphic designer, former teacher and expat...photography has been part of my life since I can remember. I love the sound of a shutter clicking, travel, lotus flowers, inversions, backyards, an ice cold G&T, a great pair of shoes, and an inspiring read....just to name a few. I truly believe Ewan MacGregor could be my best friend and I was a dancer in my past life....or at least should have been. (And no, I can't dance.) LIFE IS GOOD.
